For his integrity, responsibility, and reliability, Nathan Peters, Assistant Project Manager, was one of the three recipients of Haskell’s quarterly Living the Values Awards. Peters was nominated for Haskell’s Living the Values award by Project Manager Randy Patterson.
“Nathan is always ready to help those around him – both at work and in the community,” Patterson said. “His young family stayed in the Philippines during the pandemic to continue the work on the Urdaneta Temple project. Nathan does his best to produce excellent tracking tools that have positively impacted the progress of the project. He goes beyond the call of duty and consistently works six days a week to make sure the project keeps on pace. Due to travel restrictions, I was gone from the Philippines yet felt comfortable with the work continuing at the project site because I know that Nathan has integrity and can be trusted.”
Peters has been with Haskell three years and works at Haskell’s office in the Philippines. For Peters, Haskell’s values of Team, Service, Excellence, and Trust are guiding principles not only for a company, but for life in general.
“Outside of work, Nathan has been active in serving others at his local church congregation in Urdaneta Philippines,” Patterson said. “He has been leading the church’s youth group and actively engages in community outreach with service activities. He is committed to his family, and about a year ago, Nathan and his wife, Cierra, welcomed their first child into the world.”
Peters places great value on collaboration, especially since there is a 12-hour time difference between the Philippines and Haskell headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida.
“Collaboration is incredibly important for all of Haskell’s projects,” Peters said, “but it’s especially important for projects halfway around the world. All of a project’s team members need to be on the same page, so my team and I meet regularly with our coworkers in the U.S. to guarantee that a project is meeting Haskell’s standards of excellence.”
The onset of the pandemic in 2020 provided a real challenge to Peters because travel was severely limited between the Philippines and the U.S.
“As the pandemic began, trust became paramount to our team in the Philippines,” he said. “Our team members and supervisors in the U.S. placed an immense degree of trust in the Philippines team. With travel restricted, the Philippines office became isolated from Haskell’s main operations in the U.S., but our project team needed to continue to deliver excellent results.
“Our office had to adapt to the new circumstances and become more self-sufficient and dependable. Our projects weathered the pandemic well, and we would not have been successful if it wasn’t for the great amount of trust between the Philippine’s office and Haskell’s U.S. operations.”
