The qualifications for Senior Civil Engineer in Haskell’s Infrastructure & Transportation Group are a bit of a double entendre. The successful candidate needs to be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil engineering. It’ll also help if they are civil in the more social sense of the word.

“We have a very connected civil engineering studio” said Myra, Group Lead Civil Engineer. “We enjoy each other’s company and are very family-oriented, which really makes a difference within a professionally collaborative environment.”

The ideal candidate will be someone 10 to 15 years into their career who can be licensed in numerous states and lead the complete civil portion of I&T (Infrastructure & Transportation) projects. They will oversee junior engineers and designers and coordinate with the architects, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers and construction.

“They need to have strong coordination skills,” Jones said. “They need to be able to plan ahead due to our intense schedule and diverse project types. Time management from proposal to construction documents to construction admin becomes an important aspect or the job”

In addition to the collegial atmosphere of the Civil team, the level and variety of Haskell’s I&T projects is also a drawing card. Currently in the works are jobs ranging from supersonic manufacturing facilities to RV parks to wastewater to hotels to cruise lines’ private islands.

“It is definitely an expansive market” she said. “No one ever gets bored, and the vast experience within multiple market sectors only adds to their professional education”

As a pioneer in design-build delivery, Haskell differentiates itself with an unmatched level of collaboration between the architects, engineers, builders, and project owners.

“Being an integrated, multi-disciplined AEC company, Haskell naturally creates an extremely collaborative environment” Jones said. “If we have a question about anything, the experts are all right here. I really enjoy that you are not on an island. You have other professionals who bring innovative ideas to every aspect of a project, and there is always a willingness to share and learn from each other to produce the best solution for the project and the client.”

In addition to providing a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment, Haskell operates with the direction of six strategic pillars, the first of which is to “Provide Team Members the BEST Job of Their Lives.” It offers a robust benefits package that includes a 401k match and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), which creates stock ownership for every full-time team member.

“Haskell offers a career, not just a job,” she said. “Longevity is common, and people are proud to be a part of this company for the majority of their careers!”
