Commercial and industrial design projects generate vast amounts of data, and Haskell’s Design and Consulting Services (DCS) Group has an opportunity for a Project Controls Coordinator to help organize and make sense of all that information.

The ideal candidate is a puzzle-solver with customer service skills, someone at or near the beginning of their career ready to learn and grow with an established and fast-growing leader in the Architectural, Engineering and Construction industry.

In the role, you will research and analyze data, track budgets, forecast financial needs, monitor compliance and assist Project Controls Analysts as they keep the group’s projects tracking toward successful completion.

“It's almost like solving a puzzle and figuring out how all the pieces fit together,” said Leslie Gorman, DCS Director of Business and Facilities. “Someone who has a passion to go look at data and wonder, ‘What’s going on here?’ and follow through with it to figure out how all the pieces fit together and solve the puzzle. We would like to bring in someone who is more entry-level so we can train them and have them ready to step in in a planned manner.”

Accounting or business experience will be beneficial in understanding numbers and financial terminology. Organizational skills and the ability to track down information and experience working as part of a team are also important. Communication is key, working closely with the Project Controls Analysts and Project Managers to help successfully execute projects.

The coordinator will participate in monthly project reviews to furnish updates on accounts payable and the accounts receivable, estimates to completion and the overall financial health of the project, as well as invoice clients per contractual requirements. The position is open to candidates in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Oklahoma City; St Louis, Missouri; Charlotte, North Carolina; or Jacksonville, Florida.

“This position is about helping the project and the project manager be successful,” she said. “It's working with each of the individual project managers and their different personalities and learning how they need to look at information and providing it in a way that they can easily digest it, know the status of their project and stay focused where they need to be. Really, it's being the right hand to the project manager.”

In addition to providing a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment, Haskell operates with the direction of six strategic pillars, the first of which is to “Provide Team Members the BEST Job of Their Lives.” It offers a robust benefits package that includes a 401k match and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), which creates stock ownership for everyone who is full-time.

Haskell’s is a positive culture built on the Core Values of Team, Excellence, Service and Trust, and Gorman stressed the team aspect would be an essential dimension of this hire.

“We're going to be really picky because, I have to admit, I have the best team,” she said. “They're just awesome. I'm so thankful for them every day. And we absolutely want to keep that dynamic.”
