Stocking shelves at the grocery store used to be a simple, minimum-wage job. Now, it’s a complex supply chain puzzle that has Fortune 500 manufacturing companies clamoring for additional production capacity.

Haskell, the No. 1-ranked Food & Beverage Manufacturing Contractor as ranked by Engineering News-Record (ENR), is a longstanding partner to many of those firms. As its Design & Consulting Services (DCS) Group expands to handle the increased demand of new and existing clients, Haskell has an immediate opening for a Process Design Manager working out of its Oklahoma City office.

The position is an opportunity for an established process engineer to take the next step in their career with an industry leader serving the food and beverage, consumer product and utility industries. In addition to increased demand from longtime industrial clients, Haskell is seeing growth in alternative protein and pharmaceutical markets.

“Some of the increased demand is from new products like alt proteins, but a lot of it is just general manufacturing expansion,” Senior Design Manager Tom Hughes said. “Everyone sees empty shelves when they go to the grocery store. Suppliers are trying to figure out how to get their goods back on the shelves.”

Haskell’s DCS Group unites architecture, engineering, and consulting professionals from across industries and geographies to serve clients needing specialized, fee-for-service design or consulting projects. Haskell teams form strong collaborative relationships with client teams, helping them address industry and market challenges.

The Design Manager oversees all relevant engineering disciplines in the creation of process systems, including structural, mechanical and electrical. In the case of facility expansion, civil engineering and architecture also become involved.

“We’re looking for someone who has done process engineering, understands all that’s involved and is ready to take the next step and run a process project,” Hughes said. “It’s fun. It's definitely challenging. You're responsible for the overall design and you get to see all the different design elements come together.

“If you're someone who's been doing a lot of process engineering, this is the next step in terms of responsibility. Process still tends to be at the core, but you’re taking one step back and seeing the whole picture on a process project. It requires understanding how the whole design comes together.

As an employee-owned company with an ownership culture, Haskell team members work to benefit clients and each other, guided by the core values of Team, Excellence Service and Trust. Strategically, Haskell operates with the direction of six strategic pillars, the first of which is to “Provide Team Members the BEST Job of Their Lives.” It offers a robust benefits package that includes a 401k match and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), which creates stock ownership for every full-time team member.
