Tiffany Shaw has combined her passion for sustainability with her engineering expertise and business acumen as the first and only leader of Haskell’s Industrial Water Market.

In 2014, Shaw joined Haskell as a Design Manager in the Water Market. As opportunities in the municipal and industrial markets grew, she worked with the Executive Leadership Team to form the Industrial Water Market to focus on wastewater needs primarily for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical clients.

Initially, the goal was to determine whether there was enough demand to support a standalone market. It began in 2018 with a $5 million sales goal.

“As the Industrial Water Market was being established, the team had to win the work and then make sure it was executed to leverage it and build the business,” Shaw said.

The Industrial Water Market has produced outstanding client solutions and financial growth, which recently contributed to her promotion to Vice President. Earlier this year, Bizwomen.com, the American City Business Journals’ national site for women business leaders, named her to its inaugural Bizwomen 100.

Although clients typically procured those solutions separately from their facilities and process contracts, existing clients eagerly accepted the new component of Haskell’s integrated delivery model, and new customers welcomed the opportunity to work with a full-service design-build leader.

The Industrial Water Market is unique because it can be procured as part of a larger facility or as a standalone wastewater project, depending on the client’s needs.

That combination has driven explosive growth, and the market is forecast to finish 2023 having more than doubled its annual revenue budget.

“We have been fortunate to be selected by several high-profile clients for some of their most important projects,” Shaw said. “The Industrial Water team has been able to deliver these projects on time and on budget. We have been able to leverage our performance on these projects into new work.”

Ranking 23rd on Engineering News-Record’s Top 200 Environmental Firms, Haskell is well-positioned to create best-in-class water and wastewater solutions for clients across various markets. Shaw said her goal was to create the best possible customer experience “because wastewater is something our customers are not usually experts in, and they would rather focus on their core business.”
