Haskell Steel is a full-service, AISC-certified structural and miscellaneous steel fabricator. Created in the 1970s with a five-man crew working in the corner of a warehouse, Haskell Steel has grown to a 50-plus-person operation using state-of-the-art technology on a 30-acre campus and 100,000 square feet of facility space and is considered an industry leader. It is tasked with supporting Haskell’s large and diverse construction projects. Customers benefit from the financial strength and project lifecycle experience of Haskell, a $1.5 billion AEC firm consistently ranked among ENR’s Top Contractors.
Touan Plante, Director of Steel, has been a Haskell team member since 2010, and Ryan Hollister, Vice President of Manufacturing, has been a team member since 2008.
The team of highly trained, dedicated shop and administrative professionals manage 10,000-plus tons of steel over 60,000-plus manhours annually for both Haskell projects and external customers. Haskell Steel has shipped fabricated steel to 39 US states, as well as Latin America, Canada, Europe and the Middle East. It executes self-performed fabrication on steel packages ranging from $50,000 to $50 million.
Automation coupled with high productivity through a dedicated steel workforce offsets transportation costs, which allows Haskell Steel to compete anywhere. The organization leverages the latest technology in 3D modeling for shop drawings, erection details and BIM coordination. Models are used for pre-construction planning, material tracking in the fabrication process and evaluating erection progress. This assures the right steel is delivered to the project at the right time to ensure schedule compliance.
Top clients supported by Haskell Steel include Norwegian Cruise Line; Baptist Health; Ascension St. Vincent’s Health; AB InBev; and many others.
